Work

I was an intern with AND Gayrimenkul, a real estate firm located in Umraniye, Turkey. I helped the general management by conducting research into the real estate sector in the African and Asian market and also liaised with the Finance department in assessing investment projects.

Experience

This was my first trip outside my country, from the first day I was picked up from the airport by a lovely mentor who is now a brother to me, made my stay in ITU (Istanbul Technical University) very great, I met great and loving people from different countries with different background and beautiful culture. We had a lot of fun, parties, festivals and many activities together. The food was delicious and it was affordable, my favourite was Dürüm and Adana Kebab. The accommodation was very good with no issues. Build up a healthy relationship with new friends and also travelling to places within the city.

I learned how to respect your time and be efficient and effective when working. I had a change of mindset thinking most Europeans were racist, we lived as one family, help each other in terms of needs. This internship has also broadened my knowledge in working and dealing with people from different countries. It has also improved my skills and qualification.
