Work
I was working on a project named „Green Synthesis of Neodymium Ferrite Nanoparticles using Viola Odorata Aqueous Extract. As a pharmacy student, I acquired a great deal of knowledge in the field of nanotechnology and microbiology thanks to my supervisor, PhD and master students in Karunya. This experience gave me an insight into how students with different educational backgrounds can work together as a coherent team.
Experience
I had the great luck to meet amazing interns from all over the world such as Argentina, Kenya, Nigeria, Jordan, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, Poland and many more. We all shared the same curiosity to explore India's diverse culture and customs. There is no better way to learn about Indian ways than travelling with an international group. Together we enjoyed boathouse experience and kayaking in Allepey, rich historical heritage created by Chola dynasty in Thanjavur and strong western influence in Bangalore. The most majestic monument in India Taj Mahal has to be mentioned, as it captivates with its beauty. My stay wouldn't be complete without seeing astonishing sunsets in Goa. A mixture of rich nightlife and relaxing time on the beach makes this destination worth visiting. With the help of our Indian friends, we learned to eat Indian food the proper way, using hands only! In a short period of time, it became normal to eat spicy food for breakfast, seeing cows sleeping on the street as well as haggling for every tuk-tuk ride. India is truly unique!

This experience is a perfect example of how leaving your comfort zone can make a person grow beyond their imagination. For this reason, I would like to encourage students to apply for an IAESTE internship. There is no doubt it will benefit them in every sense. My only regret is that I didn't do it earlier. :)
