Work

During my internship at Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz in Germany, I worked on a technical project related to the autonomous control of a Carrera Digital 132 car. My work involved using ESP32 microcontrollers and motion sensors to collect and transmit data from the moving car, as well as developing a control system that could respond to the car’s movement and track conditions. I was involved in testing the hardware, adjusting sensor thresholds, troubleshooting technical problems, and improving the overall system step by step. The internship had a strong impact on me both technically and personally. It gave me the opportunity to apply what I had learned academically to a real engineering challenge and taught me that practical work often requires continuous testing, problem-solving, and adaptation rather than simply following a predefined solution. I also became more confident in working independently, communicating in an international environment, and dealing with unfamiliar technologies and challenges. Living and working in Germany further strengthened my independence, adaptability, and ability to work with people from different cultural and professional backgrounds.

Experience

During my internship in Zittau, I stayed in student accommodation, which gave me the chance to experience daily student life in Germany and meet people from different countries. I enjoyed socialising with other students and interns and gradually became familiar with the city and its surroundings. Outside working hours, I explored Zittau and nearby places and also took trips to cities such as Dresden, Prague and Liberec. These trips made the experience more enjoyable and gave me the opportunity to learn more about the culture and everyday life in Germany and neighbouring countries. Living independently was also an important part of the experience. I managed my own accommodation, transport, shopping and meals, while adapting to a different lifestyle and environment. Overall, my daily life during the internship was a good balance between work, social activities, travel and personal independence.

Discover

During my internship, I learned that I am more independent and adaptable than I had previously thought. Living and working in a new country pushed me outside my comfort zone and helped me become more confident in solving problems, communicating with others, and managing daily responsibilities on my own. The experience also changed the way I see my studies. I realized that the technical knowledge I learn at university becomes much more meaningful when I apply it to a real project. Working on practical engineering challenges showed me the importance of experimentation, patience, teamwork, and continuous learning. Most importantly, the internship inspired me to be more open to international opportunities and to continue developing both my technical and personal skills. It made me more confident about working in an international environment and encouraged me to take on new challenges in the future.
