Work
The aim of this internship was to design a gas turbine/jet engine using CAD. Due to the short duration of the internship, I followed a SolidWorks tutorial on YouTube to create the CAD design of a turbojet engine. I conducted online research coincidentally with designing the jet engine. My online research consisted of watching informative YouTube videos, browsing through relevant websites, and reading academic research papers. the Brayton cycle, working process, and efficiency for a jet engine. This led to learn about the history, development, early designs, and components of a jet engine. I also explored ways to improve the efficiency of jet engines. Overall, this internship was a unique, enlightening, and rewarding experience.

Experience
Every Monday, I attended brief Zoom meetings with Prof. Sarkar during which I was assigned an assignment to complete by the next meeting. I regularly communicated with Prof. Sarkar via email and conducted online research on jet engines on a nearly daily basis. With Prof. Sarkar's help, I was able to complete all milestones and end my internship experience by delivering a presentation.
Discover
While making my design, I had the opportunity to fabricate a design method, design specification, and design parameters. I was able to hone my CAD and design skills as a result. Moreover, learning about the Brayton cycle and its applications has made me more greatly appreciate thermodynamics as a field of study.
