Work

In this internship, I have been trainned with plant operators, both field and panel. Most task will be learning about the process in the refinery, both in the control room and on-field. Since normally operators need years of trainning and experience, hence I have not done any actual operations task for now. This allow me to understand the process in the refinery deeply, and may apply these knowledges to the future employment.

Experience

IAESTE Oman had provided me a great accomodation nearby SQU, and the provided facilities were great. I make lots of friends from diffferent countries, and we had lots of activities, like playing games, watching movies, hanging out and traveling around Seeb and Muscat. I also made lots of friend in OQ, both trainee and actual operators. They are also very nice to me. I even miss them until now. IAESTE Oman also provides me trips around Muscat, to Nizwa and etc. I feel very happy to be here. I have been to sur and wahiba sand as well. I relised that Omani nature is beautiful. Food in Oman are great and tasty, but with enormous amount of rice and some spices. Hence, preference depends on each person. Anyway, don't miss dates and halwa.

Discover

I discover the Omani culture, they are kind and sincere. So I learnt to speak up and be kind to other people. Also, now I know the life of operators in the refinery, so I think this is beneficial to me in the future. Also, it teaches me to be calm and not overthinking, maybe that's what I relised after internship.
