Work
In the beginning, I liked my internship because it gave me time to research the field the company works in and the programs they are using. Then I started using the programs. After 1,5 months they just gave me really easy tasks which decreased my motivation because the programs I wrote were too easy in my opinion so I didn't learn that much in that period. After 3 months though they gave me more complex tasks which is good. My colleagues are very nice and I like to go to the office. Also, the company is close to La Goulette (the area where the interns live in Tunis) which is a huge advantage compared to other internships. We have different restaurants and cafes nearby and a kitchen with a microwave.
Experience
Accommodation: IASTE Tunis rents a house with several apartments in La Goulette. That is awesome! You get to know the people and whenever you want to do something you just step out of your room and you will find someone or you just spend some time in the common area. Socializing: the other interns and the iaste members are open-minded and easy to talk to. I found some new friends here which I am very grateful for! Trips: IAESTE Tunisia organized a day trip every weekend and a five-day trip to the south of Tunisia. So I saw a lot of places in Tunisia. Food: I like the Tunisian food but I know that it isn't for everybody. Most of the food contains fish and eggs. If you're a vegetarian, It's hard to find food without fish and meat but it's possible.
Discover
I got to apply my theoretical knowledge during my internship which is good for learning and understanding. In Germany I used to have a tight schedule all the time, my stay in Tunis taught me to "go with the flow".
