Work

I was working on a highway construction project and had the opportunity to participate in various tasks (test of soil samples, material testing in quality control procedures, topographic measurements, structure final measurement of the bridge). It was interesting to see the different aspects of the construction of such important structure as well as get acquainted with the different professions involved and the real-life in construction sites.

Experience

I was living and working in the construction site, together with 3 other trainees. Every weekend, we were allowed to go to Istanbul and meet with other IAESTE trainees, as we were too few in Bursa. I made good friends and had the opportunity to learn some basic Turkish. During the week, we were often visiting the nearby village for coffee and nargile. We also went sightseeing in Bursa several times.

My internship helped me broaden my horizons, learn a lot about different cultures and country and decide which field of studies was more interesting for me.
