FCPC celebrates World IAESTE Day
To promote awareness on the inclusivity and diversity of cultures among students, The International Association for the Exchange of Student for Technical Experience (IAESTE) in partnership with First City Providential College (FCPC), celebrated the 70th World IAESTE Day held at the Star hotel, October 20, 2018.
IAESTE interns, Melina Mehlmann (Germany), Umar Javed (Pakistan), and Le Thu Thuy (Vietnam), introduced their culture to the FCPC family by sharing traditions, cultural heritage and experiences with their local IAESTE branch. Also, Cherry May Palacio, National Administrator of IAESTE Philippines, emphasized the vision, mission and objectives of the organization that foster 21st century skills among students and other members of the academic institution.
Gina A. Jusay, Director and Career Coach of the SFICareer Center, along with Samson Milanes Jr., the Managing Director of Green Source Software Solutions, served as panelists who answered questions regarding the IAESTE exchange student program and introduced new projects that FCPC students could avail in the near future.
“We chose FCPC as our appreciation kasi sila yung may pinakamaraming na-host na foreign interns for this year.” Patricia Mikaela Naig, program coordinator for IASTE Philippines,(We chose FCPC as our appreciation for hosting the most foreign interns for this year) stated when asked about FCPC hosting the World IAESTE Day in the Philippines.
“We are really grateful for the generosity at pagiging hospitable nila sa mga projects at mga interns. It is really best sa FCPC gawin,” (We are really grateful for the generosity and for being hospitable when it comes to our projects and interns. It is really best to have the event in FCPC) she added.
Moreover, FCPCians engaged in a workshop that introduced them to IAESTE’s vision, mission and objectives.
In addition, certificates of recognition were awarded to the key personnel while certificates of participation were given to the attendees.
