Trainee story - From Jordan to Thailand
Hello everyone!
I'm Mohammad Aburumman, a Civil Engineering student in my last year from Jordan, studying at the University of Jordan. A practical training was mandatory for my course and for that reason, I chose to apply for an IAESTE internship and luckily got accepted in APLUS Perfect Home company in Bangkok/ Thailand.
I was very excited about this experience, to learn about the Asian culture in general and Thailand in particular. After nearly 11 hours flying I saw the warm welcome and hospitality of Thai people, represented by the manager of the company that I interned in, Dr.Sasihong . I was working in Aplus company and I was the only foreign employee there but I never felt it because the work environment was a wonderful atmosphere of professional work and cooperation and fun! Thai people are always smiling.
During my training I gained a lot of experience from engineers through the office work in design and also through multiple site visits and following the progress of the project. The best part of the internship was exploring and visiting Thailand's beautiful cities, first city I went was the capital Bangkok, it is a very modern city with a huge number of high-rise buildings , malls and markets.
We went with IAESTE Thailand (organised by Prof.Tongdee) to Sukhothai the ancient city in the north. It is amazing city that has a lot of temples and parks, at the end I visited the most popular tourism cities in Thailand, pattaya and Phuket , those cities are so beautiful because they're coastal and full of life . My IAESTE internship was honestly, the best thing I have ever done!
