Details of what you should do on arrival will be provided, including a contact person who will meet you at the airport. The IAESTE local committee or the employer will arrange your stay in the country, including airport pickup, accommodation, and actively engage you throughout the internship period.

During Internship Arrow dropdown

Your supervisor at work will guide you during the whole internship. The working hours will be set by the employer. You will be added to our Trainee Whatsapp group and will be able to communicate with all members and trainees that are currently in the city. We will organise events during the week and/or weekend and inform you about all summer reception events. If you have any questions, pelase don't hestiate to ask the local IAESTE executives.

To apply for an IAESTE internship you have to: - Be between 18 and 35 years old- A legitimate student enrolled in any higher educational institution in Cameroon or- Recent graduateKeep in mind that in the hosting country there may be additional requirements.You will be charged a participation fee including a deposit This fee is expected to be paid before your nomination is presented to the receiving country and employer.

Application/Registration Arrow dropdown

-You must register on the Exchange Platform, further called the EP iaeste.net.-Log in to the EP and complete your profile as per instructions available on the platform and submit your profile for verification. You will need to pay an application fee of 30 USD equivalent to 20,000 FCFA to determine your eligibility.-If eligible, you will be requested to pay a participation & membership fee of 200 USD equivalent to 125,000 FCFA.-After which you may be nominated for the most suitable internship per the employer requirements. Keep in mind that you may be called for an interview with the employer.-Upon verification (based on the eligibility requirements) you can log in and see all available internships.-If you are interested in an internship, please check that you fulfill all requirements. Please note that there are different types of internships offers: -Global Offers – these internships are open worldwide and students from other countries can be nominated at the same time and the final decision is up to the employer. Thus, these internships are accessible to students from all countries, creating a global platform for talent exchange and cultural exploration. have the option to apply for two internships at the same time, provided the two internships are located in different countries.-Exchange Offers - these internships are exclusively available to students from IAESTE member countries, and are open only to one country and your nomination will not be compared with students from other countries, and If selected, your application is the sole one forwarded to the employer on a global scale.-Reserved offers - these internships are pre-arranged opportunities specifically matched to a particular student with a specific employer. In this case, the IAESTE office in the student’s country is not directly involved in the selection of the student. This program type offers an invaluable option to provide support to students who have already secured internships that were not found through IAESTE. It ensures that students receive the necessary assistance and benefits once they've been accepted for such internships.-If you wish to apply you can submit an application in the EP. Please include your CV and transcript of records along with the other required documents.

After your registration, we will review your profile and academic credentials, and actively use such to secure you a placement.We will review your profile, CV and transcript of records and compare it with the employer requirements and also consider other applicants. We will then rank all applicants and choose the most suitable applicant for the internship.

Nomination Arrow dropdown

The nomination is a compilation of documents based on which the employer makes the final decision whether or not to accept you.The nomination should include the following documents, make sure you have uploaded all of them in the EP:- Student Nomination Form (plus Attachment if not medically fit)- Cover Letter- CV - Transcript of records (including the grading scale)- The IAESTE Language Certificate /TOEFL /IELTS/Other related examination records.- Certificate of Enrolment from the University (if required for the internship offer)- Letter of Recommendation (highly suggested) - Scanned copy of Passport (with at least a 6 months validity)- PhotographFor all Architecture internships, a portfolio is required.If the nomination does not fulfill the above mentioned criteria, the nomination will be send back for corrections.Before the nomination is forwarded the participation fee must be paid.

Acceptance & Departure Arrow dropdown

Once the nomination is completed and fully uploaded to the EP, it will be shared with the receiving country and the employer. The receiving IAESTE committee or the employer might want to conduct an interview with you. If so, you should keep us in the copy of any emails.Unless you were contacted by the receiving committee or employer directly, you are not allowed to contact them. If you do, you might be excluded from the IAESTE internship program.Once the nomination has been shared with the receiving committee, you should receive the final decision in max. 5 weeks. If not, you are allowed to cancel your nomination and apply for another internship.Once accepted, follow the instructions of the receiving committee. You should confirm that you wish to undertake the internship within 2 weeks. If a visa or work permit is required, you should start the process as soon as possible. All students are required to purchase insurance which covers the duration of their internship. Please submit your arrival details on time so that the receiving country can make all necessary arrangements to welcome you.If your nomination is rejected, you can apply for another internship or request a refund of the participation fee.

During & After Internship Arrow dropdown

IAESTE supports the intern during the internship by helping with the reception and also organising the social events. In case of any problems you can always reach us for some tips or in case of emergency. After the internship you'll be asked to complete a feedback form to help us to evaluate your internship as we are always trying to improve our performance and reach the highest standards. The report should be submitted within 30 days (?) after the end of the internship. Afterwards, you will be issued with a certificate that confirms your participation in the program.

Requirements to offer an internship to a foreign student Arrow dropdown

Contact us using the contact details above. To offer an internship you will need to prepare the job description, information about major tasks/skills, describe the eligibility criteria for the students, such as degree, skills required and fields of study. You will also need to define the period you would like to host the intern. You should provide details of the intern's supervisor. Our team will guide you through the internship creation process.All IAESTE internships are paid, so please remember that the payment you provide to the student needs to cover at least the basic living expenses (food, accommodation, local travel). Offering an internship to a foreign student Arrow dropdown

Register on the IAESTE Exchange Platform, further called EP (www.iaeste.net) to begin the process.Create an 'offer' (internship offer) and complete all the mandatory fields. It is important to provide a detailed description of the work the intern will do. Send the offer on the EP to us for approval. Students' profiles will be presented to you via the Exchange Platform (EP) - you will see all documents prepared by the student (nomination package). Then, you will select the student that fulfills your requirements the most and you can accept him/her for the internship.If you have any additional questions regarding the students' nomination you can always contact us on [email protected]. You can also send a request for clarification and/or additional documents (eg. documents confirming skills, etc.) via the EP directly. You can also request direct interviews with the candidates before taking a decision.

Pre Arrival Logistics Arrow dropdown

We will assist you in the organisation of the student arrival including visa application. Regarding Accommodation / lodging the student, you can arrange an apartment, shared flat or dormitory for the student, if not we can handle that as well.After a student is accepted, he/she is contacted by the receiving committee to begin arrival preparations, eg. they receive a booklet with information about the country, the common way to reach the country, if the location of work is far from big cities, how to get there etc. You, as the employer, may be asked to support with some special documentation to be presented for visa/work permit application (if required). It is important to set a date to receive the intern and prepare in advance the first day at work. It is expected from the employer to introduce the intern to the work and to the team the intern will work with.

During & After Internship Arrow dropdown

It is expected that you are in regular contact with the student, ideally to assign a supervisor to guide him/her during the process. You are responsible for providing the intern with basic material for work: desk, computer etc. and if this is not possible, to mention it in advance so the student can be prepared. It is highly appreciated to have regular communication between our office and yourselves. After the internship you we will ask you to complete a feedback form to share your experience with us and the student. Once a year, in December, we organise an event for all IAESTE employers to network and thank them for being with us.IAESTE will help organise reception and cultural programs.
